EROICA [COGNAC CASK] The Bruichladdich Cuvee Series is an expression of our fundamental philosophy as distillers.
THE THIRD RELEASE IN THE NOW LEGENDARY BLACK ART SERIES; AND NOW AT 22 YEARS OLD EVEN MORE AN ENIGMA THAN THE PREVIOUS RELEASES.
An ongoing Series; A Journey rather than a destination. One that seeks to explore and express the definitive Bruichladdich Style
This is the first islay-grown barley to be distilled in recent times. It is the inaugural bottling of theirislay barley series, a unique and fascinating exploration of the influence of terroir on artisanal single malt whisky.
Dream fulfilled. Rich and assertive with that unique creaminess of the Laddie. The non chill-filtered spirit drifts serenely over the palate, warming the taste buds. It is going to linger with you as long as malts twice its age.
Cask maturation: American oak casks - Bourbon Barley: 100% organic Scottish barley , certified by the biodynamic association. Brighde , the gaelic goddess of fertility and harvest. Peating level: traditional Bruichladdich lightly peated The only Islay
This is an extraordinarily polished, refined dram
Toiteach means 'smoky' in Gaelic, and this is from Bunnahabhain but made with heavily peated barley.
The 18-year-old Bunnahabhain is limited to 1,500 bottles in the first release.
This very light (for an Islay) whisky owes its character to the fact that the spring water is drawn before it runs "over and through" the well-known Islay malt.
This was aged for 8 years in refill hogshead number 4073. It was bottled under the Provenance range in the Winter of 2007.
