The GlenDronach Peated Port Wood is a rare example of this Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, made in the ‘old style’, from malted barley dried with Highland peat. This imbues the spirit with regional notes of wood smoke and smouldering charcoal, layered over The GlenDronach’s archetypal fruitiness. Inspired by the historical import of casked port into Scotland during the nineteenth century, the peated spirit has then undergone a final maturation in the finest port pipes, from the Douro Valley in Portugal. Their whisky maker has hand-selected and expertly combined these port pipes, to create a rare and surprising expression of The GlenDronach. Appearance: Dark amber with a ruby heart. Nose: Wild strawberries dusted with cinnamon sugar, filled with sweet wood smoke. A warming hint of black pepper and a sprig of mint appear in the back note. Palate: Crisp, tart cranberry juice, fl ooded with waves of Highland smoke, sweetens to red berry compote, with rich, stewed barley and lingering, smouldering charcoal.

We are currently using Fedex for most of our deliveries and whilst there are options for an economy and next day delivery, in most cases all orders are delivered the following day.

Orders over £90 are delivered free of charge to mainland UK.Unfortunately Off Shore charges will apply and we cannot avoid this.

We are also happy to deliver local orders (within 20 miles of Dumfries) free of charge to. We do these deliveries in our own van and this option can be found in the Shipping drop down box in the Shopping Cart. Please note though, that local deliveries may take a day or two longer as it depends which route we are taking or have just been on. If we have just delivered to Annan for example when your order comes through, it may be another couple days before we go that way. For off shore and some Highlands destinations we will most likely use Parcelforce or Royal Mail and it may take a day or two longer to reach you.
